Circular Blackout is a video installation I created in collaboration with the electronic musician Mikael Lind in 2025. Together the video & sound circulate the immense space of the Tanks in Raufarhöfn, like an enormous clock, on a rotating platform. The work consists of 17 hand drawn stop motion videos. With a camera above the drawing table, I record the process of making a drawing, frame by frame, with pencils and coloured pencils on paper.
The site specific installation was created for The Tanks, but they are fish oil tanks, built in 1940 and were used as as such until 2006. The Tanks are situated in Raufarhöfn that is the northernmost town on the Icelandic mainland. The exhibition opened july 26. and ran until august 24. 2025.
